People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2 - 14 days after exposure to the virus. |

People of Any Age with Underlying Medical Conditions People of any age with certain underlying medical conditions are at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Children who are medically complex, who have neurologic, genetic, metabolic conditions, or who have congenital heart disease are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 than other children. People of any age with the following conditions are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19:
