What is coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.
Watch for symptoms
Symptoms can range from mild to severe illness and death for confirmed COVID-19 cases. According to the CDC, the following symptoms may appear 2-13 days after exposure.
Older adults and those with severe underlying chronic medical conditions
Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. Please consult with your health care provider about additional steps you may be able to take to protect yourself.
